Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 9, 2026
VeriField Pro LLC is committed to ensuring that the VeriField Pro MSHA platform is accessible to all users, including mine workers, safety professionals, and administrative personnel with disabilities. We recognize that accessibility is essential in safety-critical applications where every worker must be able to report hazards, access training records, and participate in emergency procedures regardless of ability.
1. Our Commitment
VeriField Pro is committed to providing an inclusive digital experience for all users. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our platform to ensure compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and applicable provisions of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Our accessibility efforts are guided by the understanding that mine workers operate in challenging physical environments. We design our interface to be usable in the field, in varying weather conditions, while wearing personal protective equipment, and by workers of all abilities.
2. Conformance Status
The VeriField Pro MSHA platform partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conforms” means that some portions of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard, and we are actively working to address these areas.
We conduct regular accessibility audits using both automated testing tools and manual evaluation by individuals with disabilities. Our goal is to achieve full WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across all features of the Platform.
3. Accessibility Measures
VeriField Pro has taken the following measures to ensure accessibility:
3.1 Keyboard Navigation
- All interactive elements are operable via keyboard, including forms, buttons, navigation menus, and modal dialogs.
- Logical tab order follows the visual layout of the page.
- Focus indicators are clearly visible on all interactive elements.
- Skip navigation links allow users to bypass repetitive content.
3.2 Screen Reader Support
- Semantic HTML elements are used throughout the Platform to convey structure and meaning.
- ARIA labels and roles are applied where HTML semantics alone are insufficient.
- All images include descriptive alt text appropriate to their context.
- Form inputs have associated labels and descriptive error messages.
- Dynamic content changes are announced to assistive technologies via ARIA live regions.
3.3 Visual Design
- Color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).
- Information is never conveyed by color alone; additional visual indicators such as icons, patterns, or text labels are provided.
- Light mode and dark mode are both available and fully accessible.
- Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Content is responsive and reflows properly at various viewport sizes.
3.4 Touch Accessibility
- All interactive touch targets are a minimum of 56 pixels (14mm) in height and width, exceeding WCAG requirements, to accommodate use with work gloves.
- Adequate spacing between touch targets prevents accidental activation.
- Swipe gestures have alternative tap-based controls.
4. Field-Optimized Features
The Platform includes accessibility features specifically designed for mine site field use:
- Glove-Friendly Interface: All interactive elements use a minimum 56px (14mm) touch target, enabling operation while wearing standard work gloves, leather gloves, or nitrile gloves.
- High Contrast Mode: Enhanced contrast mode optimized for outdoor visibility in bright sunlight or low-light underground conditions.
- Voice Input Support: Voice input is supported for key workflows including hazard reporting, inspection notes, and check-in operations, enabling hands-free operation when workers cannot safely interact with a touchscreen.
- Offline Access: Critical features including check-in, emergency muster, and inspection forms are available offline for use in areas with no cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity. Data syncs automatically when connectivity is restored.
- Large Text Options: Users can increase text size system-wide to improve readability in challenging field conditions.
- Simple Workflows: Safety-critical actions such as emergency alerts and muster check-in are designed to require minimal steps and no complex interactions.
5. Multilingual Support
Recognizing that the U.S. mining workforce includes a significant bilingual population, VeriField Pro provides:
- Spanish Language Support: Core safety features, including check-in/check-out, hazard reporting, and emergency notifications, are available in Spanish to support bilingual workers.
- Proper HTML language attributes (
lang) are set for both English and Spanish content to support screen readers. - Language selection is preserved across sessions and is available in user profile settings.
6. Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, we are aware of the following accessibility limitations that we are actively working to address:
- Map Components: Interactive map elements used for site selection and geofence display may not be fully accessible to screen readers. Alternative text-based location entry is available.
- PDF Reports: Some generated PDF reports may not meet all PDF/UA accessibility requirements. We are working to improve the accessibility of exported documents.
- Complex Charts: Data visualization charts in the dashboard and report center may not be fully accessible to screen readers. Data tables with the same information are available as alternatives.
- Camera Integration: Photo capture for inspections and hazard reports relies on device camera APIs which may have varying accessibility support across devices.
We maintain an accessibility backlog and prioritize issues based on their impact on user experience and safety-critical workflows.
7. Third-Party Content
The Platform integrates with certain third-party services, including weather data providers and mapping services. While we select third-party partners with consideration for accessibility, we cannot guarantee that all third-party content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. Where third-party content is not accessible, we provide alternative means to access the same information.
8. Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of the VeriField Pro MSHA platform. If you encounter accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
When reporting an accessibility issue, please include:
- A description of the issue and where it occurs.
- The device, operating system, and browser you were using.
- Any assistive technology you were using (e.g., screen reader name and version).
- The impact of the issue on your ability to use the Platform.
We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to resolve critical accessibility issues within 30 days.
9. Enforcement Procedures
If you are not satisfied with our response to your accessibility concern, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, Disability Rights Section, or with the relevant federal or state enforcement authority. We are committed to working with regulatory bodies to resolve any accessibility compliance issues.
